MBBS — Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery
- Duration: 5.5 years (4.5 years academic + 1 year compulsory internship)

Paramedical Courses
Paramedical Diploma courses at PCSGMCH are run under the State Medical Faculty of West Bengal (SMFWB). Each course is of 2 years duration, followed by 3 months of compulsory post-examination practical training (minimum 300 hours). The number of seats is as per allotment by the State Medical Faculty — currently 72 approved seats at PCSGMCH, Arambagh.

Eligibility & Admission
- Passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination with pass marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- Attained the age of 17 years on 1 September of the year of admission.
- Certificate of physical fitness from a registered medical practitioner and two character references (non-relatives).
- Selection is based on marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology at the qualifying examination and appearance in a centralised counselling session conducted by SMFWB.
- Only one application form per candidate for one course.
Awarding Body
Diplomas are awarded by the State Medical Faculty of West Bengal (established 1914) — an autonomous body of the Government of West Bengal. The diplomas are recognised across states and by central authorities for employment.

Internship
After completing the 4.5-year academic phase and passing the Final MBBS Part II examination, students must complete a one-year compulsory rotatory internship at PCSGMCH or at other recognised institutions as directed by WBUHS. Interns receive a stipend as per Government of West Bengal norms.
