About Inpatient Services
The teaching hospital at PCSGMCH has a sanctioned bed strength of 594 beds distributed across 23 clinical departments. Inpatient wards provide round-the-clock nursing care, consultant ward rounds, and allied health services including physiotherapy, dietetics and social work.
Admission Process
- Patients may be admitted through the Emergency Department (direct admission for emergencies) or via OPD referral from the concerned specialist
- Admission is facilitated at the Admission Counter, Ground Floor, OPD Block
- A patient identification card (UHID) is issued at first visit and must be presented on all subsequent visits
- Admission to ICU/HDU beds is decided by the treating specialist and Duty Medical Officer

Patient Facilities
- Free medicines and consumables as per government formulary for BPL and eligible patients
- Diet services for admitted patients
- Social welfare assistance and Swasthya Sathi linkage
- Attendant passes for one caregiver per patient
- Chaplaincy and spiritual care on request
Discharge Process
Discharge summaries are provided at the time of discharge. Patients requiring follow-up are directed to the appropriate OPD clinic. For escalation of complaints regarding inpatient care, contact the Medical Superintendent (MSVP) office.
