About the department

The Department of Ear, Nose and Throat (Otorhinolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery) provides diagnostic and surgical care for diseases of the ear, nose, paranasal sinuses, throat, larynx and neck. The department undertakes microsurgical ear procedures, endoscopic nasal and sinus surgery, and management of head and neck conditions, alongside MBBS and postgraduate training.

Services

• Diagnosis and surgical management of chronic otitis media (CSOM)
• Functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) for nasal polyposis and sinusitis
• Tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy and throat surgery
• Tracheostomy and emergency airway management
• Audiometry, tympanometry and hearing aid evaluation
• MBBS Phase III ENT teaching and MS (ENT) postgraduate training

Facilities

• ENT OPD with diagnostic endoscopy and nasal endoscopy suite
• Audiometry and hearing assessment unit (pure-tone audiometry, tympanometry)
• ENT operation theatre with operating microscope and Karl Storz endoscopy set
• FESS (functional endoscopic sinus surgery) instrumentation
• Microlaryngoscopy and bronchoscopy set
• Speech therapy and audiological rehabilitation room
