About the department
The Department of Community Medicine (Preventive and Social Medicine) focuses on population-level health, epidemiology, biostatistics, health administration and public health. Students gain field experience through the Urban Health Training Centre and rural postings, learning to address the health needs of the 30 lakh+ population served by the hospital's catchment area. The department actively participates in national health programmes and community outreach.
