About the department
The Department of Biochemistry introduces MBBS students to the molecular basis of life — metabolism, enzyme kinetics, molecular biology, genetics and nutrition. The department bridges pre-clinical and clinical medicine through clinically oriented biochemistry, covering topics such as diabetic biochemistry, liver function, kidney function and inborn errors of metabolism. Practical sessions involve biochemical estimation and diagnostic lab techniques.
