About the College Council
The College Council is the principal academic and administrative body of Prafulla Chandra Sen Government Medical College & Hospital. It functions under the chairmanship of the Principal and comprises heads of all academic departments, senior administrative officers and elected faculty representatives.
Functions
- Oversee the academic programmes and examinations of the college
- Review and recommend policies on student welfare, discipline and academic standards
- Coordinate inter-departmental activities and resource allocation
- Review and approve departmental plans, budgets and proposals
- Ensure compliance with NMC and WBUHS regulations
- Consider grievances forwarded from students and staff

Meetings
The College Council meets at regular intervals as determined by the Principal. Extraordinary meetings may be convened when required. Minutes of Council meetings are maintained by the Member-Secretary.
