About the department
The Department of Paediatrics provides curative, preventive and developmental health services for children from birth to 18 years. It manages neonatal and childhood illnesses, nutritional disorders, vaccine-preventable diseases and paediatric emergencies. The department operates a Sick Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) and NICU, and participates actively in national child health and immunisation programmes. DNB seats in Paediatrics are offered at PCSGMCH.

- Neonatal resuscitation and management of sick newborns (SNCU/NICU)
- Inpatient management of paediatric illnesses
- Paediatric OPD — general and specialty clinics
- Immunisation clinic — routine EPI and catch-up vaccination
- Management of SAM / nutritional rehabilitation
- MBBS Phase III paediatric training and MD (Paediatrics) postgraduate teaching
